Justyn's Bio

Why is there a "y" in Justyn? Perhaps because he tends to query things. To him, certainty of faith is enhanced by questions of doubt. For this reason Justyn sits well at the threshold of faith, listening to the misgivings of the uncertain and welcoming newcomers.

In the 60s Justyn founded one of the UK's first Christian rock 'n roll bands. In the 70s he took on the leadership of Hildenborough Hall, a retreat centre near London. In the 80s he and his wife Joy accepted an invitation to pastor a church in White Rock, British Columbia. And in 1990 he established Upstream and under that banner, led a team of young musicians, dancers and actors on a 5 year pilgrimage of reconciliation from Vancouver Island to Newfoundland. That same concern for reconciliation inspired Justyn and Joy to lead a delegation to genocide ravaged Rwanda. From 2003 to 2006 Justyn was interim lead pastor at Northview Community Church in Abbotsford.

Justyn and Joy live in Abbotsford close to their three adult children and seven grandchildren. Justyn has written several books, most recently "Love your Neighbour, for God's sake" and "Honest Doubt, Real Faith".
